How to work with AVI files in Karaoke Video Creator

In overwrite mode all that was needed was making the text area slightly higher — in some cases two lines did not fit (probably due to accents). Also making ‘Additional spacing’ parameter smaller would work.

In scrolling mode I simply resized the text area — again the accents was what caused the problems.

In the future I suggest to work on AVI file first with low framerate (like 2 or 3). The file would be created fast and you would be able to make modifications without waiting for the MPEG file to be created. When done simply change the output type to MPEG and set the desired compression.

Which software rips and burns CD+G discs

Power CD+G Burner is a software that does both things — you can save tracks from CD to hard disc (this is ‘Rip’ section) and vice versa — burn MP3+G tracks to CD (‘Burn’ section). You may download the evaluation version of the software to make sure this is what you need (it is essential to test the Burn section as it may not work with some CD-R drives).

Vocal Remover in karaoke software

Vocal Remover is free in PowerKaraoke — you do not need purchase the unlock code to use it. We have added it to our software but we are well aware of its limitations. There is no vocal removing tool available that can do the same job as recording the instrumental part of the song — all vocal removing tools work more or less in the same way (by removing the common part of two stereo channels).

PowerKaraoke and PowerKaraoke Plus are CD+G authoring packages — the price is based on features that allow creating professional CD+G discs from scratch (usually using recorded instrumental part). And home users can convert MIDI karaoke to CD+G.

Also I do not believe in MP3 to MIDI converting — it is impossible with the current state of science and technology. Maybe you meant MIDI to MP3? Or adding karaoke lyrics to MP3?

Burning CD+Gs

You do not need any other software — if Power CD+G Burner worked before then it should work now. Entering the unlock code should not change anything. (Mention regards our other software and is for users that cannot use Power CD+G Burner).

Please see my suggestions/questions below.

1. Have you installed any additional software in the meantime? Or maybe have you installed the newer version of Power CD+G Burner?

2. Have you changed any of Power CD+G Burner settings? If yes, please reset them to default values (please see the image attached).

3. If you have more then one CD-R device installed on your computer, make sure that you use the one that you used when evaluating our software.

4. If all this fails please send us pcdgblog.txt file located in C:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CD+G Burner directory.

I am sure that we will be able to figure what the problem is.

CD+G seeking slow in Karaoke Player

CD+G is a sequential format, but we employ special techniques to make seeking possible. This involve storing key frames every second and also requires rendering of the entire window each time the screen is painted. But still the processor load is extremely high — maybe there is some other explanation for this. Do you have any additional video or audio DirectX filters installed?

Ripping BIN karaoke files

BIN files are karaoke track images — they can be recorded to another CD+G disc using Power CD+G Burner or played back in the computer with software like Power CD+G Player Pro. You may also rip songs to MP3+G format — they are MP3 soundtrack files and CDG files with lyrics and graphics.

I suspect that you have modified ‘Output filename mask’ setting and omitted {T} in the new name. {T} is substituted with the number of the track and if it is missing you will end up with 1 file instead of 14. So please make sure that ‘Output filename mask’ contains something like:

Track {T}

Setting font for display in Karaoke Video Creator

I have analyzed the problem and the solution was to select the proper font for display. Here is what I did:

1. I selected the soundtrack and imported the text into Power Video Karaoke (I have saved the text to Unicode-encoded text file). The display in the lyrics editor was fine, but the output was not correct. If you did not get this right select Preferences from Toolbox, then click on […] and select Chinese font here (I used Batang font).

2. Now I have selected the Video Settings command from Master menu and changed the font from Arial to Batang. This was the only font on my computer that displayed all characters properly (MS Mincho did not).

I had to edit the text a little — Power Video Karaoke requires space character to split words, and in the song there were only comas and dashes, so the output looked strange. Also you may need to change the font size to a smaller number.

How to set MMC-Raw in Power CD+G Burner

We did not modify burning module, all that was added was the ripper. Try to burn using the following settings:

[X] Use MMC-Raw driver
[ ] Don’t interleave subchannel data
[X] Don’t generate error correction codes

After you do the burning please send the log file — you will find it in the following location:

c:\Program Files\Doblon\Power CD+G Burner\cdgblog.txt

And please make sure that the file you are trying to burn plays properly  on your computer using a software player.

How to choose Hebrew script in Karaoke CD+G Creator

You may need to set the script for the font to Hebrew. This has to be done in two places:

1. Select Preferences from Toolbox menu
2. Click […] button and choose Hebrew under Script, then OK.
3. You should be able to see Hebrew characters in editor window now. To view them in Preview window, select ‘CD+G Settings’ from Master menu, click […] and then also select appropriate script.

What resolution PowerKaraoke uses

PowerKaraoke gives exactly the same resolution as any other CD+G discs. The problem may be with colors, as some of them may indeed look more blurry on a TV screen. Generally using basic colors should do the job. Using red, yellow, and blue colors should give best results.
